Our work is protected
MudLittle, LLC owns the copyright in every article, illustration, and newsletter we publish, unless a piece credits another source. All rights are reserved. That protection begins the moment we publish a piece and lasts for the life of the author plus 70 years.
We put our work online so families can read it for free. Reading it is always welcome. Republishing it is not.
How to credit us
When you quote or reference our work, name MudLittle as the publisher and link to the original page. For online quotes, the link is the credit. For print, include the URL in plain text beside the quote.
What is not allowed
A few uses need our written permission first. These protect the trust our readers place in the work.
- Republish a full article, or a substantial part of one, on another site or in a newsletter.
- Translate our articles into another language for republication.
- Use our work in a paid course, book, app, or product.
- Scrape, copy, or feed our articles into a dataset, model, or AI training pipeline.
- Remove our byline, links, or the medical review notice on any piece.
Our medical disclaimer still applies
Our articles are copyrighted journalism, not medical advice. Copying a passage does not transfer the clinical judgment that comes with reading the whole piece. Our medical disclaimer governs how our work should be used, and it stands beside this copyright notice.
Lactation consultants, pediatric nurses, and clinics may print up to 20 copies of a single article to hand to families, with our URL on each page. For more copies or a different format, write to us first.
Our name and logo are trademarks
MudLittle and the MudLittle logo are trademarks of MudLittle, LLC. The brand and logo may not be used on another site, product, or service without our written permission, except to identify us in an editorial reference or a link.
Reporting a problem
If you see our work copied somewhere it should not be, tell us. We take the same care with this as we do with our writing.
Send the URL of our original work, the URL where it appears without permission, and your contact details. We respond to valid requests within ten business days.
